This is a simple template to use when writing your own fundraising letters. It is only a general guideline. To use, simply fill in your information where required.

Dear Everyone,

I am sending this letter to many of my friends and acquiesces so please forgive me for being impersonal.

I have been accepted to volunteer overseas with <Organization’s Name>, in <Location>.

<Organization’s Name> is a non-profit organizations working to <Brief Organization Mission Description>.

In <Time before Departure> I depart for <Location> and will be volunteering for <Period of Time>. I am excited about volunteering abroad, however I need your help.

As <Volunteer Organization> is a non-profit organization, it is the responsibility of the volunteer to pay for certain expenses involved with volunteering. This is where you come in.

My expenses to participate in the expedition total <Total Cost>, this includes:

<Breakdown of Costs>

I will be living in <Description of Living Situation>. During the expedition we (the volunteers) hope to <Project Goals>.

I have saved <Your Funds> of my own money. I am hoping to get your help in raising the remaining amount. If each of my friends and acquaintances contribute <Amount> I will have more than enough for the expedition.

I am happy to bring back pictures and souvenirs to everyone that contributes.
